Welcome, 2014!

Hi there, guys and dolls!  This week, Andrea and Heather are hijacking the site from Barbara Jean.  2013 has been a fantastic year for us — making so many new friends, seeing STRANGLED BY SILK come to life as well as writing the follow-up (yes, to those of you who are asking, it’s coming along — more news soon, we promise!).  We feel very blessed.

We’re sure everyone can empathize, as we all lead such busy lives these days, sometimes getting things done can be a real juggling act.  Being that we are new to the published world of authors, we also maintain day jobs in the retail world.  Basically, that means from the end of November till December 31st, our time normally spent writing is (pardon the pun) a write-off.   We flop at the end of our days, just to start it all over again.  Rinse and repeat.

Don’t get us wrong, there are great benefits as an author to dealing with the public.  You see so many walks of life, character traits, carry on and overhear great dialogue and interact with some terrific customers who over the years have become friends.  Then there’s the others — who try your patience and help create tension in your fictional world.

As for our blog here, we have to say that we were very happy to be able to keep up our postings, with help from our friends and featuring reviews we had done at our leisure over the year.  Thanks for staying with us and we hope in our small way we have entertained you.

So now, things are settling back to normal.  We had a great season at work, a well needed, restful break and it’s going back to our regular routine.  We’ve already had a great writing session earlier this week and are geared up to finish our second Poppy Cove Mystery  novel and a solid outline for the third.  There’s more interviews to do, new friends to make, new novels to discover and welcoming tasks of sharing our Santa Lucia with you in different, creative ways we are exploring.  We wish all of you the love, health, happiness, peace and prosperity we have been fortunate to have.

Very Warm Regards,

Andrea Taylor and Heather Shkuratoff
